Living with Low Self-Esteem: How It Affects Life Even at 42

I am 42 this year, and I recently discovered something that my friend warned me about years ago. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but now, I realize how right they were. They told me, “If you don’t work on your self-esteem while you’re young, it will affect your life later on.” Well, here I am, 42, living proof of how true that statement is. I’m someone who has struggled with low self-esteem for most of my life, and it still lingers, affecting me in ways that I never imagined when I was younger. It’s not just an abstract feeling that you can ignore—it shows up in the small, everyday moments and, unfortunately, in some of the bigger ones too. The Daily Struggles of Low Self-Esteem You might think low self-esteem is just about lacking confidence in social settings, but it’s deeper than that. It can impact your decisions, your relationships, and how you see your own worth. For me, this manifests in several ways: Overthinking : I replay conversations in my head, wonderin...

What People Don’t Understand About Those Struggling with Low Self-Esteem

Living with low self-esteem isn’t just a fleeting feeling of inadequacy—it’s a deep-rooted struggle that colors how someone sees themselves, others, and the world around them. For those who don’t experience it, it can be hard to understand the invisible challenges faced by people grappling with low self-esteem. These struggles go far beyond occasional self-doubt and affect every facet of life, from relationships to careers and personal well-being. 1. The Constant Inner Critic People with low self-esteem often live with a relentless inner critic. This voice magnifies every flaw, criticizes every decision, and makes even small mistakes feel monumental. To outsiders, this might look like perfectionism or overthinking, but it’s more than that. It’s a battle against self-doubt that can paralyze decision-making and sap joy from achievements. For example, a compliment might feel insincere or undeserved because their inner critic is quick to dismiss it. “They’re just being polite,” th...

"Breaking the Silence: Navigating Isolation, Self-Doubt, and the Journey to Connection"

I have been working for more than 17 years, earning money for my survival, and I am very thankful for the life that I have, even though it wasn’t easy. I fought countless battles inside me—battles that no one else could see or understand. These were battles with self-doubt, fear, and a constant tug-of-war between wanting to belong and needing to be alone. I thought that as I grew older, as life progressed, I would become stronger and more prepared to face whatever challenges came my way. But instead of gaining strength, I found myself retreating further into my shell, distancing myself from the very people I needed to connect with. I chose to stay away from people, preferring to walk alone. At first, it felt like the right decision. Solitude brought peace, clarity, and a sense of control that I couldn’t find in the chaos of social interactions. But over time, I realized that this choice came with its own set of challenges. Life doesn’t allow you to exist in a vacuum. The work ...

Confidence: A Privilege Not Everyone Has

Confidence is often seen as a natural part of life. We admire confident people, gravitate toward them, and celebrate their boldness. But have we ever paused to consider that confidence, for many, is not a given? It is, in fact, a privilege – one that not everyone possesses. For those who struggle with confidence, life can feel like navigating an uphill battle. They are often misunderstood, mislabeled as distant, cold, or unsocial. What’s hidden beneath these assumptions is a reality of internal struggle, self-doubt, and the yearning to belong. The Invisible Struggle Confidence issues are deeply personal and often invisible. To someone battling low self-esteem, even everyday interactions can feel like insurmountable challenges. Saying hello to a stranger, speaking up in a meeting, or sharing an opinion can seem trivial to the confident, but these moments can be overwhelming for someone who constantly questions their worth. When society equates confidence with success...

Finding Self-Confidence Through “Stay the Same”

Finding Self-Confidence Through “Stay the Same”     Growing up, music often became a source of comfort and connection, and one song that truly stood out to me was *"Stay the Same"* by Joey McIntyre. Its lyrics about self-acceptance and self-confidence resonated with me in a way that felt both reassuring and empowering. At its heart, *"Stay the Same"* is a reminder that we don’t need to change who we are to be worthy of love and acceptance—a message that was both profound and comforting, especially as a young person navigating self-doubt and the desire to fit in. The opening line, *"Don’t you ever wish you were someone else,"* is like a gentle wake-up call. It’s so easy to fall into the habit of comparing ourselves to others, wishing for qualities we don’t have or feeling inadequate because of some perceived flaw. As a young person, hearing these words felt like a validation that who I was, as I was, was enough. It’s one of those rare reminders that our val...

The thing is .. life needs to go on ... and on ... it is a continous battle everyday

 ### **The Thing Is… Life Needs to Go On, and On… The Continuous Battle of Every Day** Life doesn’t pause for you to catch your breath, does it? The thing is, no matter how exhausted, overwhelmed, or stretched thin we feel, life just… keeps going. There’s no "pause" button to stop the constant demands, no way to step off the treadmill and simply rest. It’s relentless. Every day is a new challenge, a new battle, especially for those of us who struggle with anxiety, low self-confidence, or the need to please others. And yet, we keep pushing forward. We have to, right? But what if the real battle isn’t just about keeping up with life? What if it’s about managing the constant war inside ourselves—the war between who we are and who we think we need to be? #### **The Exhausting Cycle of “Yes”** For those of us who are "yes" people, life is a never-ending series of obligations. It’s the struggle of constantly saying yes, even when every fiber of your being wants to say no....

My journey towards minimalism , Monday, 6th May 2024

I always think how to be calm, as I am kind a person who likes to rush things, and one of the ways I think it is proven effective is by being minimalist, as the less item I have, the less worry I will be and thus less stress.  But the journey towards minimalism isn't walk in the park. It requires persistency and strong will.  Persistence in a way, that this is a life you choose to do, and you have your own why and reasons, and strong will as it really easy to be swayed and forgot your why.  Currently I am on my journey to do this, so I am not be overwhelmed by things, and instead, able to enjoy life.  I will start with my place of work, and my home and i know it will be hard and tedious process, but a process that I must do in order for me to have a good and organized life, with less worry and be calm.

Time to act, just do it, don't think too much

I am over thinker, who over analyse everything and things have difficult a lot of time. I want to do things, but kept delaying it, postponing it, and nothing good coming out from it. Thus, this morning, starting today, I must change my behaviour and my attitude and my mind setting, to do it, to do and do, things that I want to do, things that can give me benefits, not thinking or indulge myself in things that do not bring any benefits towards me.  I must work hard, be persistent, be strong, because nobody can help me, beside myself.  I hope this motivation will last, as I found out, I have been delaying so much time in over thinking and wasting my time in unnecessary things that do not bring me any benefits at all ... The God, will not change someone fate's until that person work hard on himself.

Gardening, it is not for lazy.

Do you have hobby? Hobby is a great to help you avoidng stress and things about life that you do no like. What is your hobby? Mine is gardening, writing and used to, reading. And i guess now watching. Now, I want to talk about gardening. At first I thought gardening is easy, but turn out, it hard, and complicated and complex than I thought it would be. And it cost money to. Now, I am starting to wonder, which is better, just buy the plants or learning to plant it, as gardening, farming, is totally not for the lazy.    Gardening, as I've come to realize, is a hobby that goes beyond just growing plants; it's a journey of patience, understanding, and continuous learning. When I first decided to try my hand at gardening, I assumed it would be a simple and cost-effective way to have beautiful, vibrant plants at home. Little did I know that it would demand much more than just throwing a few seeds into the soil. One of the first lessons I learned was that gardeni...

Gardening .. It is wonderful

Gardening, it is wonderful. It started with my experience as I felt that gardening is awesome as it makes me happy. I still remember planting my first seeds and watching them sprout into seedlings. It was magical! Since then, gardening has become one of my favorite hobbies.   There's just something so satisfying about digging in the dirt, nurturing plants, and watching them grow and produce flowers, vegetables, or herbs. Gardening is a great way to get outdoors, immerse yourself in nature, and create beauty with your own two hands. I love waking up in the morning and stepping outside to see how my garden has transformed overnight. The vibrant colors of blossoms and leaves lift my mood instantly. Tending to my plants and pruning away dead leaves feels almost therapeutic. It's a calming ritual that helps me relax and reduces stress.   One of the best parts of gardening is harvesting fresh fruits, veggies and herbs. There's no comparison to the flavor of garden tomatoes or...
